WE MUST FIND THE TIME TO STOP AND THANK THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN OUR LIVES ~ John F. Kennedy
The ability and willingness to express sincere appreciation is one of the most valuable and often forgotten skills of communication. People tend to willingly follow others who make them feel appreciated. We all know how to say thank you yet most seldom express sincere appreciation. Words of affirmation go a long way in letting someone know you appreciate them. People that feel appreciated are often energized by the positivity created and tend to do better work. In the workplace teams that feel appreciated consistently outperform teams that feel undervalued. Leaders must make it a priority to notice what others are doing right and take the time to thank them for it. This is also true in our everyday lives. Take the time to notice and acknowledge the small things and bigger things will be accomplished!
